The Eat Dorset Food Fair will be held on the 18th and 19th
October in the grounds of Parnham House.
Following the huge success of
last year's Fair, attended by nearly 4,000 people, this year's Fair
will take place over two days with double the amount of marquee space,
providing extra space to ensure people enjoy the Fair without it feeling too crowded,
and it will allow for a greater number of producers to attend the Fair
together with a second day of cookery demonstrations and children's
activities in the beautiful gardens of Parnham House.
Again this year we are pleased to be part of Dorset Food Week.
The Eat Dorset Food Fair was initially launched two years ago to
coincide with the publication of the 'Eat Dorset' book, written by Mike
Feasey, linking the landscape, food producers and Dorset recipes.
The Fair continues to endorse and extol the wonderful produce that comes from Dorset and the surrounding
neighbourhood.
There will be over 45 producers represented at the Fair
with produce ranging from handmade chocolates to wild boar sausages,
fresh goats cheese and seasonal chutney. The producers include both
well-known, well-established Dorset names together with smaller, lesser
known but equally deserving producers and there will be an opportunity
to sample and purchase produce.
There will also be a cafe serving the
wonderful Dorset Blue Soup in addition to other delicious, home-made
dishes. The Dorset Wine Company will be running wine tastings and
further information about these tastings will be posted here and on their
website.
