COMINS TEA HOUSE

Comins Tea House is an independent tea company based in Sturminster Newton North Dorset.  Set up and run by Rob & Michelle Comins we personally source all of our fine single estate teas and work with British Designers to produce our own range of teaware.  Tea is steeped in history, tradition and ceremony which we believe greatly add to the flavour and enjoyment of each cup.  At the Tea House we pay respect to the origins of our teas and prepare them in a way that makes the most of their fantastic natural flavours.  We aim to keep it simple and not make it stuffy encouraging our customers to take time over the ceremony of tea and offering advice on brewing and storage.

At Eat Dorset we will be sampling, serving and selling our fine teas.  Interested in trying new teas but not sure where to start?  Either Rob or Michelle will be available throughout the weekend to offer advice and infuse any tea you would like to try.

THE TICKLED PIG

The Tickled Pig in wimborne believes that great food starts with great ingredients, which is why they endeavor to grow and rear as much as they can themselves. Everything else is locally sourced with care and comes from Dorset's best and most exciting suppliers. Situated in one of the oldest buildings in the town, The Tickled Pig's beating heart is its buzzing kitchen, which is central to everything, the large kitchen door is always open and large windows offer clear views of all the chefs hard at work. This energy transcends the whole restaurant and it is obvious that everyone involved in the Tickled Pig is passionate about what they do, from their skilled barista grinding and brewing coffee to order, to the knowledgeable front of house staff who also get time working in the kitchen garden and with the pigs, as well as serving customers. The food is essentially modern British but the simple menu which changes everyday reflects the best of local seasonal produce, often including locally foraged ingredients. It is inspiring and a real reflection of the best of Dorset.

This year at the food festival they will be showcasing the Tickled Pig Events flying pig catering trailer and cooking their signature hangi  as well as other innovative outdoor cooking techniques.
